Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Mimo-mind s.r.o. handles personal information in connection with the website barecanvas.online. It is written as a walkthrough of the thirteen Australian Privacy Principles, so that you can check each one against what this site actually does.

Mimo-mind s.r.o. handles personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, published by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at https://www.oaic.gov.au/privacy/australian-privacy-principles.
This policy applies to the website barecanvas.online and to email sent to the address above. It does not apply to any other website. The affiliate destination https://price-low.eu/a/mZvW4URrgVfDMpz and every other site linked from the course are operated by other organisations under their own privacy policies, which you should read there.
APP 1 — Open and transparent management of personal information
This policy is the openness measure. It is published at a fixed address, linked from the footer of every page of the site, and written to be read by a person rather than by a lawyer. Mimo-mind s.r.o. keeps its handling of personal information simple enough to describe in full on one page: there are two categories of information, named below, and nothing else. Questions about this policy go to info@barecanvas.online.
APP 2 — Anonymity and pseudonymity
You can read every page of this site without identifying yourself. There is no account, no sign-in and no form. If you write to us, you may use a pseudonym and an email address that does not carry your name; we will reply to it as given. The one exception is a request for access to or correction of personal information about yourself, where we need enough information to be satisfied the request is yours before we act on it.
APP 3 — Collection of solicited personal information
Two categories of personal information reach Mimo-mind s.r.o. in connection with this site, and only two.
(a) Server access logs. These are kept by our hosting provider in the ordinary operation of the web server. Each entry may contain your IP address, the date and time of the request, the URL requested, the referring page if your browser sends one, and your browser's user-agent string.
(b) The content of emails sent to info@barecanvas.online. That means your email address, your name if you give it, the message itself and any attachment you choose to send.
Nothing else is collected. There are no forms, no accounts, no sign-ups, no newsletter, no progress tracking, no quizzes, no cookies, no web fonts, no analytics, no advertising tags, no profiling and no cross-site tracking anywhere on this site. The pages request nothing from any other server, so loading them tells no third party that you were here.
APP 4 — Dealing with unsolicited personal information
Occasionally an email contains personal information we did not ask for and do not need in order to reply — details about a third party, for example, or an attachment sent in error. Where it is lawful and reasonable to do so, we delete that information rather than keep it.
APP 5 — Notification of the collection of personal information
This policy is the notification, and it is linked from every page. In short: access logs are collected automatically by our hosting provider when you load a page, for the purposes in APP 6 below; the contents of emails are collected when you choose to send one, so that we can reply. If you do neither, nothing about you is collected.
APP 6 — Use and disclosure of personal information
Access logs are used for keeping the site running securely, preventing and investigating abuse, and diagnosing faults. Email is used for reading and replying to your message. Neither category is used for anything else.
Personal information handled by Mimo-mind s.r.o. in connection with this site is never sold, rented, traded, or shared with anyone for marketing. It is disclosed outside the organisation only to the service providers named under APP 8, and to a court, regulator or law enforcement body where the law requires it.
Retention. Access logs are retained for 30 days and then deleted or overwritten in the ordinary course. Email is retained for 24 months after the last message in the conversation, unless it is needed for the establishment, exercise or defence of a legal claim, in which case it is kept until that matter ends.
APP 7 — Direct marketing
Mimo-mind s.r.o. does not use any personal information collected through this site for direct marketing. There is no mailing list, no newsletter, no promotional email and no course reminder. If you email us, we reply to what you wrote and nothing more.
APP 8 — Cross-border disclosure of personal information
Two service providers are involved in running this site: our hosting provider, which operates the web server and keeps the access logs, and our email service provider, which runs the mailbox for info@barecanvas.online. They are the only recipients of personal information connected with this site.
Both may store or process data outside Australia. We are not naming a country here because that would be a guess, and this policy does not guess: the honest statement is that the location of this processing may be outside Australia, including at facilities in Europe. If you would like to know the current providers and where they operate before contacting us, write to info@barecanvas.online and we will tell you.
APP 9 — Government related identifiers
This principle has almost no application here. Mimo-mind s.r.o. does not adopt, use or disclose any government related identifier — tax file numbers, Medicare numbers, driver licence numbers or anything similar — in connection with this site. We ask for none and have none. Please do not send such an identifier to us by email; if one arrives, it is treated as unsolicited information under APP 4.
APP 10 — Quality of personal information
Because the only personal information we hold is what you have written to us yourself, its accuracy is largely in your hands. If something we hold about you is wrong, out of date or incomplete, tell us and we will correct it.
APP 11 — Security of personal information
The site is served over HTTPS. It has no database, no stored form submissions and no user accounts, which removes most of what could otherwise be exposed. The hosting account and the mailbox are accessible only to people working for Mimo-mind s.r.o., and access is removed when it is no longer needed.
We hold no certification and claim no compliance with any standard beyond what is stated in this policy. Information held is destroyed or de-identified when the retention periods under APP 6 expire.
APP 12 — Access to personal information
You may ask what personal information Mimo-mind s.r.o. holds about you and ask for a copy. Email info@barecanvas.online with Privacy request in the subject line. There is no charge for making a request. We will respond within 30 days. If we cannot give access — for example where doing so would reveal someone else's personal information — we will say so in writing and explain why.
APP 13 — Correction of personal information
You may ask us to correct personal information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading, using the same address and subject line. The same 30-day period applies, and there is no charge. If we decline to correct something, we will explain why and you may ask us to attach a statement of your view to the record.
Affiliate links
Some links in the course go to the World of Warships website and are paid affiliate links. Following one takes you off barecanvas.online. From that point, the site you have arrived at and the affiliate network that operates the link may use cookies or similar technology on their own domains to record that the referral came from us, under their own privacy policies and not under this one.
Mimo-mind s.r.o. receives commission reports from the affiliate network. We use them only to reconcile what we are owed, and we neither seek nor want information identifying individual readers. Nothing we receive is matched against anything on this site, because there is nothing on this site to match it against.
Complaints
If you believe Mimo-mind s.r.o. has mishandled your personal information, write to info@barecanvas.online. We will acknowledge your complaint and respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at https://www.oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints.
Data breaches
If we become aware of unauthorised access to, unauthorised disclosure of, or loss of personal information we hold, we assess it promptly. Where the assessment is that serious harm to an affected person is likely, we notify the people affected and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Children
This site is not directed at people under 16. It collects nothing that would identify a person of any age beyond what is described above, and we do not knowingly seek personal information from children. The course material about young people is written for the adults in a household.
Readers in the EU, EEA and UK
Mimo-mind s.r.o. is established in the Czech Republic, so the following applies in addition to the above.
The legal basis for processing server access logs is our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working. The legal basis for processing the content of an email you send is responding to your enquiry. There is no consent basis anywhere on this site, because there are no cookies and no similar technologies requiring consent.
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection in respect of information we hold about you. Use info@barecanvas.online to exercise any of them.
You may also lodge a complaint with the Czech supervisory authority, the Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů), at https://www.uoou.gov.cz.
Changes to this policy
When this policy is revised, the effective date at the top is updated. Where a change is material, a note saying so is displayed at the top of this page for 30 days from the date of the change.
